Tornos embraces the future of turning at EMO Milano 2021
With a stand at the heart of the EMO Milano 2021 exhibition and its Customer Center Milan just a short walk from the train station Rho-Fiera and minutes by car from the Fiera Milano fairgrounds, Tornos this year leverages proximity to roll out the red carpet for guests. This hybrid formula will enable Tornos to offer visitors a VIP experience before, during and after EMO. Backed by a 130-year machine tool heritage, Tornos will be unveiling a brand new range of machines during EMO Milano 2021—October 4–9—in a unique celebration of the past and an enthusiastic embrace of the future.
For Tornos, EMO has always been synonymous with fruitful exchanges and promising meetings. As a biennial meeting place for the world of metalworking, this trade show is always a highlight for machine tool manufacturers—especially during this extraordinary year, since the organization of such a trade show is both ambitious and promising: ambitious, given the public health situation and uncertainties related to the COVID-19 pandemic, and promising, because the event offers the ideal opportunity to renew personal contacts, in person, avoiding the pitfalls of virtual meetings.
For the Italian machine tool market, EMO Milano 2021 will have two very important meanings. Indeed, for all the companies involved in this sector, this year’s event will represent a real restart, and massive involvement by suppliers, manufacturers, and customers.
EMO Milano 2021 will also be the confirmation of a gradual return to normal life. Prior to the COVID-19 pandemic, trade fair exhibitors stood proudly at their booths presenting their products to customers. However, due to stringent pandemic-related restrictions, enjoying trade fairs was no longer on the global agenda.
For Italy as well as the rest of the world, EMO Milano 2021 will mark a turning point in the way companies approach trade fairs.
For this reason, Tornos is opting for a new formula this year, different from what is traditionally done: inviting interested parties to a visit its Customer Center Milan before going to Fiera Milano, starting at 9:00 a.m. as a prelude to the day, with a business breakfast or an Italian lunch combining work and gustatory pleasure. As needed, Tornos will then take its guests by bus to the EMO Milano 2021 site. This option is also available at the end of visits to EMO. The Customer Center Milan will be open until 7 p.m., one hour after the official daily closing of the exhibition.
In parallel, Tornos will have a stand at the heart of EMO Milano 2021, in hall 1, stand C08, where experienced professionals will be available to welcome visitors and provide information. This is a different way of promoting the Tornos brand, which has been a guarantee of quality, reliability and—above all—precision for 130 years.
The future is calling
Tornos invites prospective and existing customers to start or end their EMO Milano 2021 experience by visiting to Tornos’ Customer Center Milan, located just a short walk away from Milan’s central train station. Tornos is making it easy for visitors to answer the call of the future, benefit from expert consultation, and be inspired by new production solutions and applications.
In this respect, EMO Milano 2021 is the perfect opportunity for Tornos to launch its new range of Swiss DT machines. Designed to evolve with manufacturers’ needs, the new Swiss DT range was conceived to meet the diverse requirements for machining long and short parts from bar stock measuring 2 to 38 mm diameter. Thanks to Tornos' 130 years of experience in bar turning, the Swiss DT range is an affordable solution that offers the market’s best value. The machine is based on relatively traditional kinematics with five linear axes. Highly complex parts can be produced by adding a range of options compatible with all Tornos machines.
The Swiss DT range is designed for special operations. For example medical threads can be produced by adding a thread-whirling device, making it is possible to create a polyaxial screw for spinal surgery on a Swiss DT 26. Polygon milling or gear hobbing is also possible.
The Swiss DT range is of course one of the highlights of EMO Milano 2021, but it will not be the only machine to take the stage. For example, Tornos’ SwissDECO 36 now has a new option for machining bars up to 42 mm in diameter.
Since its launch, the SwissDECO has become the reference for bar turning machines producing large-diameter, complex parts. Its power and infinite possibilities have enabled the production of parts that have been impossible to machine until now. Fast and precise, this machine is particularly well suited to the production of highly complex parts. Now, a new 42 mm option has been added to the broad range of options already offered by the SwissDECO.
Among the other machines Tornos will showcase at EMO Milano 2021 is the superbly flexible and productive MultiSwiss which allows manufacturers to get on the fast track to success. Thank to this machine, it is possible to quintuple productivity and immediately start producing parts up to eight times longer than the bar diameter.
The MultiSwiss platform meets your need to machine 3 to 32 mm bars and it is the most competitive solution for production of different types of parts. Boost your productivity by replacing up to 5 Swiss-type machines with 1 MultiSwiss and take your productivity per square meter to a new level. In one machine, you get the market’s best ergonomics as well as superb chip management. Managing chips is now hassle-free, and so is setting up a MultiSwiss. The MultiSwiss is a must-have solution even for small companies. Discover at EMO Milano 2021 how the MultiSwiss can, for example, help you break into the Medical & Dental sector and compete in terms of price, quality, and time to market. The MultiSwiss is, without any doubt, the low-risk path to a quicker return on investment (ROI).
These machines will be accompanied in the Customer Center Milan showroom by Tornos’ complete portfolio, providing a thorough overview of all Tornos solutions. Visitors are invited to embrace the future during EMO Milano 2021, just like Nicolas Junker, a founding father of Tornos, who in 1891 in Moutier became the first to market the automatic lathe. Thus, for the last 130 years, every single Tornos innovation has shared the same goal: We keep you turning.
Meet Tornos at EMO Milano 2021 to celebrate the past and embrace the future, while experiencing how Tornos can add value to your business.
